Give all your guests an opportunity to express themselves and have a great time. A pARTy at the South Bay Art Department offers 2 1/2 hours of artistic exploration and creative fun.
You choose the project. We provide the instruction and materials. Guests bring their imagination. And everybody goes home with their own original work of art.
Pick your pARTy project:
- Self Portraits – Each guest works at their own easel, painting a self-portrait inspired by celebrated contemporary artists. Everyone goes home with their personal painting.
- Contemporary Sculptures – the host chooses a thematic, and the guests use sculpture wire, fabric, recycled materials and paint to create a unique work of art. And everyone takes their sculpture home!
- Superhero Me – Inspired by the comics of Stan Lee and the art of Roy Lichtenstein, all party guests will create a life-sized painting of themselves as a superhero with superpowers. As always, everyone goes home with an original work of art.
- Life Drawing – Working from a live costumed model, guests will develop several 5-minute gestural sketches using charcoal, pencil and ink washes. Then we’ll do one long 30 minute pose for a portrait painting (extra $50 model fee)
- Custom – We have many other projects including fabric collages, fashion/headshot photoshoots, and more. We can work together to create a custom art pARTy just for you.
pARTy includes:
- 2 1/2 hour usage of the South Bay Art Department
- All art instruction and materials
- Sample pARTy schedule:
15 minutes: gather and acclimate
5 minutes: demonstration
30 minutes: collaborative project
15 minutes: snack break
10 minutes: slideshow and demonstration
60 minutes: individual project
15 minutes: cake celebration, finish paintings and goodbye’s
Pricing and Availability:
- $295: up to 10 guests
$395: up to 15 guests
$495: up to 20 guests - Fridays 4 to 6:30pm, Saturdays 12:30 to 3pm, Saturdays 4 to 6:30pm, Sundays 11:30 to 2pm
- $150 deposit to hold your date.
