Art of Photography

$325 includes all instruction, materials and a snack (but bring your own camera – DSLR preferred)

Sample Schedule
  • Day 1: Introductions
Learn about camera settings, composition, and light. Then get to know your camp-mates through in-studio photography projects. We’ll project the results and highlight the unique points-of-view.
  • Day 2: Still Life: Toys
Introduce still-life concepts and apply them to photographing a toy brought from home. We’ll challenge ourselves to think in new ways, bring the toy to life and build a story. Then we’ll highlight and discuss the results.
  • Day 3: Portraits
Introduce portraiture concepts and apply them to photographing camp-mates. We’ll break to review the results, then come back to a white seamless where we’ll practice capturing different personas and implied stories.
  • Day 4: Action!
See how sports, fashion, photojournalism all capture action. An in-studio action photography exercise will illuminate the inherent challenges. We’ll review the results and learn about photographic solutions.
  • Day 5: Retouching and Exhibit
We’ll review the best photographs of the week, and then see how retouching can enhance them even more. A final exhibition is open to parents and guests when camp ends.
